Police release video of man who appears to come back to life after being shot, charges officer with a knife

The Austin Police Department released bodycam video from the officer-involved shooting two weeks ago.

On June 12, an officer saw a disabled vehicle on the side of the road with one person holding a knife inside.

Additional officers were called to the scene but the man appeared agitated and refused orders to drop the knife.

“Just shoot me,” he shouted at the officers.

An officer attempted to subdue the man with less-lethal shotgun rounds but he kept advancing at another officer.

The officer whose bodycam was released fired his pistol at the man.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures by using tourniquets and CPR but the man died from his injuries.

Each of the officers that used a firearm during the incident had over 10 years of police service experience, according to KXAN.
