New Orleans man attacked, truck stolen in his own driveway by 3 armed men

A man was ambushed by three armed men in broad daylight, resulting in his vehicle being taken away from him.

New Orleans resident Hung Nguyen’s unfortunate carjacking incident was caught on home security camera on Thursday, giving him a chilling third-person reminder of the encounter.

“I was testing something for my car. I saw three guys walking. They saw me behind my car. They walked back, turned around and pulled out the guns. They said, ‘give me the keys, give me the keys.'”

Nguyen initially resisted, but was quickly subdued.

“I did not give them the keys, so they hit me,” he said. “They hit me on the head. Took the keys from my pocket.”

Nguyen has been the victim of carjacking twice, according to WDSU.

While the New Orleans Police eventually found his car, the truck was missing many of his personal belongings, including expensive tools.

Nguyen wasn’t the only one robbed, however. The rest of the neighborhood was robbed of their peace of mind.

“Everybody feels no good. They want to move somewhere. But we live here. We go to church here. We do not want to move because the church is here. I hope the police can catch them, everyone is scared,” said Nguyen.

The three perpetrators are still at large.
