A pro-Trump rally in California’s Aliso Viejo turned violent after a man began attacking elderly women and pulled a knife on them.
33-year-old Alvin Shaw, is accused of assaulting three women aged 55, 74 and 84, respectively.
Seemingly coming “out of nowhere” as a pro-Trump rally was winding down, Shaw reportedly began agitating the women with verbal insults.
“He was pretty upset and he started using profanity from the minute he arrived,” said witness Cynthia Cantrelle-Westman. “He kept coming over to me and getting in my face, and all I could say was the F-word.”
Eventually, Shaw blew smoke in the womens’ faces and attempted to extinguish his cigar on one of their signs.
When one woman asked him not to, Shaw became violent, striking her in the face.
“He broke my earring off and just took up my whole face with his hand,” victim Donna Snow, 84, said.
According to KTLA, a retired police officer stepped in, drawing his firearm after Shaw deployed a pocket knife. The knife was later recovered in a bush.
Shaw was arrested by Orange County deputies and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, elderly abuse and assault, and battery.
