TAMPA — Two people were arrested Monday after a string of gas station robberies in East Tampa, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said the duo — whose names were not released — robbed the Super 7 store at 4808 E. Broadway Ave. around 5 p.m. on Monday. They then attempted to rob the Liberty gas station on E. Lake Avenue but were unsuccessful. They fled by car.

They crashed their car near the intersection of 29th Street and Lake Avenue. That’s where both were arrested.

Police say the robberies could be tied to others across Hillsborough County, though, they did not name specific incidents. The investigation is ongoing.
