MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — A drunken teen picked an interesting spot to crash for the night.
The disoriented 19-year-old male broke into an Airbnb that was being used by three out-of-town deputies and managed to find a vacant bed, where he slept until he was discovered in the morning, reports say.
The three deputies took the intrusion in good spirits and posted a video about the incident on TikTok and Instagram, which ended up going viral.
“About 2:30 in the morning, I heard some crashing around upstairs, but I thought it was this guy going to the bathroom,” Charles Pesola, a deputy from Flathead County in Montana, says in the video while pointing to a colleague.
“It wasn’t me,” his colleague says.
The deputies realized a door was open to the residence, so they began searching. They found the teen asleep in a bed.
“This silly guy found the one Airbnb in all of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, loaded with cops,” Pesola says in the video. “He woke up in handcuffs.”
The deputies called Milwaukee police, who took the confused teen away. Police have decided not to charge him, reports say.
“He made a mistake. It’s OK. We’re gonna get over it, and at the end of the day, we can smile about it,” Deputy Matt Vander Ark tells WISN Channel 12.
