A California man lost his life savings in a strong arm robbery that left him with injuries, and footage from the event has been released.

Francisco Cornejo, who had recently sold his home, was withdrawing $200,000 from a Chase bank in Huntington Park when robbed by his assailant and knocked to the ground.

In addition to severe head trauma, Cornejo was left with significant bruises on his side and arm, and his shoulder was dislocated.

The attack was filmed by a bystander, and shows Cornejo attempting to resist the attacker.

According to KTLA 5, his daughter praised him for putting up a fight despite being ambushed.

“He never expected such an atrocious attack,” the daughter said. “Bystanders attest that my dad was fighting with all of his will. My father was dragged by the criminal as they both fought for the bag.”

A GoFundMe was set up to cover his injuries.

The daughter also claimed he withdrew the large cash sum to support their family here in the US as well as “loved ones” in Mexico and El Salvador. She also claimed they had no idea who could have robbed him.

The Huntington Park Police Department is investigating, but currently have no leads.
